Six years ago, I walked into a London hotel and met Jaimini Padleckis for the first time.

As a student, I had invested in IPEC to help me master coaching techniques and explore my potential.

Jaimini, the lead trainer, held us spellbound as she led three days of exhilarating (and challenging) live training modules.

Since graduating, we’ve kept in touch.

Today, I’m inviting you to eavesdrop on a special conversation between us.

If you listen carefully, you’ll hear how we decided to build a game-changing coaching community from scratch over a lunch in Lewes last August.

In this post, I’ll reveal:

  • How our journey began
  • What we discussed
  • How it evolved

(Hint: It’s all about alignment)

Let’s dive in.

The Real Opportunity

“I can’t stop thinking about it,” Jaimini said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

“Creating a membership for professional coaches. It’s a game changer.”

My mind was already racing with possibilities.

“It’s more than a business idea, isn’t it?” I remarked.

“It’s an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.”

Aligning Our Values and Vision

We looked at each other, ready to dive into the details, but something stopped us.

Realising, before we could build anything, we wanted to ensure our values and vision were in sync.

Jaimini leaned forward; her voice filled with passion.

“I dream of helping coaches design a life that’s nourishing, nurturing, and full of adventure.

A life that gives them the freedom to seek out parts of themselves they’ve never explored before.

To break free from repetition and embrace new experiences that evoke growth and learning.”

“Yes!” I agreed, adding my own thoughts around balancing life, work, and play.

We both nodded, agreeing that authenticity and embracing one’s true essence would be at the heart of the community.

We imagined creating a space where coaches could be:

Connected – part of a vibrant, supportive, collaborative community

Confident – empowered with tools and strategies to manage effectively

Fulfilled – experiencing purpose and satisfaction while being rewarded

The Four Pillars: Connect > Create > Impact > Evolve

As the conversation unfolded, four essential elements emerged.

Each one a pillar upon which the community would stand.

A space where coaches can:

  • Find a sense of belonging
  • Establish meaningful connections
  • Become part of a supportive, like-hearted community.

It’s about building relationships based on trust, empathy, and shared experiences.

A collaborative environment where coaches can:

  • Embrace fresh perspectives
  • Generate innovative solutions
  • Co-create value.

It’s about unleashing the power of collective creativity.

A platform for coaches to:

  • Create ripples of change
  • Make a positive difference
  • Extending far beyond themselves.

By harnessing the power of the collective, they can effect transformation not just within the coaching community, but in the lives of those they touch.

It’s about leaving a lasting legacy of positive change.

A journey of continuous development and growth, where coaches could

  • Align with their values
  • Purposefully progress
  • personally and professionally.

It’s about embracing the process of change, shedding limiting beliefs, and emerging as an ever-evolving version of oneself.

Creating an Unforgettable Experience

With the foundation set, we imagined what it would feel like to be a part of this community.

The words “real,” “raw,” and “transformational” came to mind.

We pictured a space where:

  • Vulnerability was not just accepted but celebrated.
  • You could share your souls without fear of judgment.
  • An environment where every person’s reality was validated.
  • You could find the support to navigate even the most challenging parts of your journey.

This wouldn’t be just another networking group or online forum.

This would be a place of true evolution, where coaches could peel away the layers of their seen selves and connect with their unseen essence.

The Power of Collaboration

As coffee was served, Jaimini and I looked at each other, our hearts full.

We had a:

  • shared vision
  • set of core values
  • set of foundation principles

And an unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of coaches.

But we knew we couldn’t do it alone.

Bringing this vision to life would require collaboration and co-creation.

We knew the path ahead wouldn’t be easy, but we were ready for the challenge.

The Playbook: 5 Key Takeaways for Aspiring Collaborators

For anyone looking to collaborate with others and bring a vision to life, our story offers a valuable playbook:

1. Start with the big picture

Ensure you and your collaborators are aligned on your values and vision before diving into the details.

2. Identify your core elements:

Define the key themes and values that will shape your project, making sure everyone is on the same page.

3. Define the experience

Envision what you want people to feel when they engage with your project, and create an experience that is real, raw, and transformational.

4. Embrace collaboration and co-creation

Remember that bringing a vision to life requires collaboration. Be open to working with others and creating something truly collaborative.

5. Take action

Once you have a shared vision and a plan in place, it’s time to act. Reach out to others, build your community, and bring your vision to life.
